This work depicts big bend terrain moments before nightfall. What stood out to me in this scene was the contrast between the red sky and the blue mountains. I took artistic liberty in depicting the sky with bright red, angry strokes while the terrain underneath with control and abstraction in the foreground. The work expresses anger (the sky) slowly subsiding into acceptance (mountains and background terrain) and, finally, indifference (seen in the foreground).
