This painting is inspired by the Grasslands of the Permian Basin at the I-20 Wildlife Preserve in Midland, Texas. As a part of the Texas Landmarks Collection, Anastasia aims to capture the beauty of the urban playa and encourage all to visit it. The Preserve is one of the few urban playas in the state of Texas, an ecotourism destination, and a science education resource of the Permian Basin. The mission of the I-20 Wildlife Preserve is to ensure conservation, restoration, and outdoor enjoyment of the Midland's urban playa for present and future generations.
